The Rock: #1 Contender?

WWE is reporting that the Rock’s no show of last night’s Raw was due to a serious abdominal injury and hernia suffered during Wrestlemania’s Main Event. This is the second such reported serious injury in two years for the multi-million dollar movie star and former WWE Champion. During last year’s Cena match, Rocky tore his hamstring.

The skepticism is already out there. Whether the injury will ultimately be revealed to be true or false remains to be seen. The only ones who truly know whether it is a cover story or actual injuries are the Rock and those within WWE. However, PWInsider (via Wrestling Inc) is reporting that the injury is legitimate.

Groomed for greatness, Dashing, or whatever you like to call him, Cody Rhodes is a favorite around the Chad Dukes Wrestling clubhouse. Cody was yet another of the amazing lineup of superstars to join Chad Dukes, a Shark, and a Frog on Radio Row at WWE Axxess this morning.

The brief Rhodes Scholars hiatus was a dark time in WWE. Thankfully it was a brief blip and the two best friends are slated to join forces with the Bella Twins to take on Tons of Funk & The Funkadactyls on the grandest stage of them all. Cody opened the interview by talking about his friend and tag team partner, Damien Sandow.

Him and I are not a tag team really. We’re just genuinely friends. We consider ourselves Navy Seals of tag team segments because whenever they’re like “who could do this match?” “Team Rhodes Scholars!” Cody Rhodes is different, Damien Sandow is different, but Team Rhodes Scholars is this whole ‘nother fun. It’s so different from what I am a fan of and what I typically always wanted to do. Damien is a completely different element. I love working with him.

Monday Night RAW Preview 4/1/13

The build to this match is actually getting very exciting. It seems people are really irked about the whole disgracing of the symbol that is the Urn. Is it stealing the spotlight away from the main event? Well, yeah – kind of.

We are going into the LAST RAW BEFORE WRESTLEMANIA 29, and this should arguably be the biggest broadcast of the year! This is when all tensions boil over and if any tricks have been saved – they will be played…tonight!

Let’s see what we have:

  • Team Hell No vs Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston

What kind of a factor will AJ Lee be in this match? Will Kaitlyn be at ringside?

  • Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger

These two keep brawling over every show. It’s about time to find out who can back up their big mouthed counterpart. Oh – don’t forget; Dolph STILL has the Money in the Bank briefcase. I believe the stipulation is the winner has until the following Wrestlemania to cash in. Not much has been made of this on television. Plot thickens.  Continue reading →

The Rock Does Kimmel

Dwayne Johnson has been on a whirlwind media tour as of late. I’m sure you’ve noticed his absence from the majority of RAW and Smackdown episodes. He’s got a lot on his plate, and last night was no exception. The Rock appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote movies, Wrestlemania 29, and his general bad-ass-ness, as seen in the above picture.

Click through for highlights, as well as the video and to find out what the heck that thing is. Continue reading →

Mark Henry Possibly Injured at Live Event

Mark Henry

Looks like it’s a Mark Henry weekend on Chad Dukes Wrestling Show.com, this time the news isn’t as good as yesterday’s Hall of Pain tribute.

Reports are all over the web this morning, coming out of yesterday’s Smackdown Live Event in Norfolk, VA, that Mark Henry possibly injured his knee in a match against Kane. Here’s all the details from a live report:

WWE tag champion Kane beat Mark Henry via DQ when Henry used a chair on Kane. They quickly went to a finish after the referee did the “X signal” when Henry appeared to injure his leg. Henry limped to the back after the match.

The fact that they went quickly to the finish obviously isn’t a good sign, hopefully the decision was made not because of catastrophic injury but to protect Henry and get him checked out. The build for Ryback vs. The Worlds Strongest Man has been fun and is one of the many matches on the card that this writer is looking forward to outside of Punk/Undertaker and Lesnar/HHH.

Here’s hoping Mark’s knees is okay and we still get our battle of the behemoths in two weeks at MetLife Stadium.
