Alberto Del Rio Suspended – WWE

Paige Suspended – WWE

Alberto Del Rio and Paige have both been suspended for 30 days for violations of the company’s wellness policy.  What makes the suspensions doubly interesting is that the pair have been romantically linked in recent months and reports that Del Rio has been unhappy with his position in the company.  Paige, drafted to the Raw brand, has been out of action dealing with injuries and Del Rio has been competing on the SmackDown brand as recently as this past Tuesday.

Storm’s TNA Status – WrestleZone

Multiple live reports from the final night of TNA television tapings are reporting that James Storm told the live audience after a One Night Only match with Bram he was wrapping up his time with TNA and teasing you’ll see him down the road “with a friend of his.”  Storm rejoined TNA in January after a brief run in NXT.  However, he is the part of an angle this coming Thursday where he clashes with management so as always, keep your BS detectors on high alert.

Triple H Conference Call – Philly.com

Triple H held another NXT conference call with the media last night and revealed a few interesting nuggets:

  • The presentation of the cruiserweight division will be “different”, he’s not looking to sign all the talents for the division at once, and talents will work Raw, NXT, & NXT live events.
  • He’s fine with signing NXT talents to contracts that allow them to work in other companies (think Austin Aries’ deal) but he wants Raw’s cruiserweight talents to be exclusive to WWE.
  • Shawn Michaels is still deciding if he will move to Florida to be a full-time NXT instructor.

Playing into the heel persona he’s cultivated in the UFC, Conor McGregor has drawn the ire of another group of athletes this weekend: professional wrestlers.

During a media call for UFC 202, after being asked about if there was any interest in a future in the squared circle, McGregor spoke with harsh words.

“I have thought about it. For the most part, I think these guys are p*ssies, to be honest. They’re messed up p*ssies if you ask me. Fair play to Brock (Lesnar); he got in and fought, but at the end of the day, he was juiced up to the f*cking eyeballs. How can I respect that? The other guy (CM Punk) hasn’t fought yet, so I don’t know about him yet. There’s some Dons in that wrestling game. The McMahons are Dons. Triple H is a Don. The Rock is a Don. But the rest of them are p*ssies. I haven’t thought about that, to be honest. It’s a little more show business and this is the fight business.”

The UFC Featherweight Champion then doubled down on his comments on his Twitter.

Naturally when their profession is given the badmouth, Wrestlers from WWE and outside the company aren’t shy in sticking up for their genre of entertainment.  The responses range from offended to hilarious.   Continue reading →

WrestleMania 32 Preview

It’s here, it’s here! WrestleMania Sunday. Time to run through the card and get you ready for the Showcase of the Immortals!  In addition to this preview, be sure to listen to Big Shooter, Thomasso, & Goat give their thoughts on WrestleMania from this week’s show.

Don’t forget! WrestleMania starts at 7PM with the Kickoff Show starting up in an hour at 5PM on the WWE Network with THREE matches.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H (C) vs. Roman Reigns

On the heels of a broken nose, parking lot, and ringside brawls, Roman Reigns finally gets Triple H in the ring, presumably, one-on-one for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship much to the chagrin of the “smark” portion of the WWE Universe in your main event of the evening in Dallas.

For months he Authority had being trying to keep Reigns from the championship, be it when Seth Rollins was champion or when the title was declared vacant.  However, Reigns finally captured the gold, for longer than 5 minutes that is, on the December 14th Raw. Unfortunately for Reigns, The Authority and Mr. McMahon weren’t done messing with the Samoan Superstar.  Reigns was then forced to defend his WWE Championship in the Royal Rumble Match where Triple H made his return to capture Reigns’ title.  Triple H would go on to break the former champion’s nose and sideline him for several weeks.  Now that Reigns has returned he’s set his sights on stalking the Game all over the arena in several intense brawls leading to tonight’s match.

Predictions:

Dukes – Reigns

Thom- Triple H

Goat- Reigns

Tully- Reigns
