Coolest Pic You’ll See All Day

It’s early, but I am confident in proclaiming this the coolest damn picture you’ll see all day!

Ok, so I’m not going to do what you all think I am going to do which is freak the hell out and start contemplating the possible future, wildly booking fantasy matches, and speculating on the near and distant future. I won’t do it.

This could be just two like minded fellows with similar backgrounds who might have been introduced by a mutual friend (say, Mick Foley?), and wanted to tip back a few Steve-Weisers (Light’s) together.

But, come on…

You know. I know.

Their combined potential for new catchphrases, and spins on old favorites… OH HELL let’s get at it!!

Alright so I figure they start together on RAW making a run at the Tag Team titles…

WHAT? YES! WHAT? YES! WHAT? YES! A Tale of Two Chants…

If you’ve been living under a Pro Wrestling Rock since Wrestlemania there’s a new chant that’s taken wrestling audiences by storm, “YES!” Daniel Bryan’s gone on the record saying he was inspired by MMA Fighter Diego Sanchez doing a similar chant as he made his way to the octagon. Regardless, once Daniel Bryan lost his World Title in 18 seconds at Wrestlemania the fans embraced it as a way to show love for a superstar they felt was going to be swept under the rug after such an embarrassingly brief defeat. Low and behold, it worked, Daniel Bryan got a new t-shirt and the “indie” guy who would everyone thought would get swallowed up by the WWE is now one of their top stars. Now, contrast that with Stone Cold Steve Austin’s infamous “What?” chant.

Stone Cold to host CMT’s Redneck Island

As you already know all the boys here are HUGE Stone Cold Steve Austin fans, so anytime some news pops up about a new project for the Texas Rattlesnake we’re on it.  So it was a no brainer to let you know that CMT announced Monday that they have signed a development deal with Austin’s Broken Skull Productions for the former WWE Champion to host a new reality show, Redneck Island, and develop more projects in the future.

Redneck Island seems to be Survivor with a CMT/Stone Cold Steve Austin twist, 12 ‘rednecks’ are put in a tropical paradise where they will compete for $100,000. Here’s what Austin had to say in the press release:

“I am thrilled to join the CMT family and for the opportunity to work with them on future projects. I’m also excited to work with the great folks at 51 Minds Entertainment on Redneck Island.  If there’s one thing I know, it’s how to keep a bunch of rednecks in line. And that’s the bottom line!”

Even in print, I’m punching the air hearing that quote in Austin’s voice. If Austin is half as entertaining in the Redneck Island eliminations as he was on Tough Enough I’ll be watching.

The Morning Roundup – 4/12/12

Happy Thursday, everyone.  The weekend is almost here, so let’s get to the links.

Live Super-Smackdown Delivers Not-So-Super Results – PW Torch

So the Smackdown on Tuesday was supposed to be huge.  People have stuff to do on Friday nights, right? Apparently everyone who watches Smackdown on Friday’s was busy on Tuesday.  Smackdown recorded just a 1.5 rating on Tuesday on SyFy.  This is down from a 1.9 it recorded last Friday.  The previous attempt of Smackdown on Tuesday (2/21/12) got a 1.67 rating.  Any way you slice this, it’s a disappointment.  Any reasons you think Smackdown fell short?

John Morrison Returning to WWE This Year? – SEScoops

Morrison has reportedly been hinting to friends that he could return to WWE later in the year.  He even had an interview with the Poughkeepsie Journal that the “door was still open,” in reference to WWE.  He also mentioned how he left on good terms, and would need a reduced schedule from the 250-day work year.

The Morning Roundup – 4/5/12

Good Morning, everyone.  By now, I’m assuming you now know that Brock Lesnar is back, and a member of Raw.

Lesnar Listed For Next PPV – PW Torch

According to PWTorch.com, Lesnar is now being billed as participating in Extreme Rules PPV in Chicago on April 29th.  This comes on the heels of him being added to the Raw roster.  Lesnar is contracted for two appearances a month for the next year.  Lesnar is obviously a huge get for WWE, and given how well Wrestlemania 28 did, somehow billing him AND The Rock next year would be even bigger.

Early Wrestlemania 28 Buyrate Said To Be Through The Roof – SEScoops

According to ESPN’s Gus Ramsey, WWE was targeting 1.5 million buys — which would shatter the previous record from Wrestlemania 26 at 1.25 million buys — however, the early indications are it blew away even WWE’s lofty expectations.  Ramsey tweeted “… Rock and Brock each sign 1 year deals. WM28 did 1.9M buys. WWE was targeting 1.5M.”  No two ways about this, that is huge.  On both accounts, Rock and Brock are back for another year, and WWE blew away their previous record.  Continue reading →
