The Coolest Pic You’ll See All Day: Shawn Michaels & #MrSnickers

Say hello to the newest resident of the Shawn Michaels household, Mr. Snickers. Mr Snickers is a 25lb. Flemish Giant Rabbit given to him apparently during one of the Heart Break Kid’s outings for Shawn Michaels MacMillan River Adventures television show.

Trained by Jose Lothareio, aka The Harebreak Kid, aka Mr. Eastermania himself is known for his patented finishing maneuver where he thumps his back leg and kicks other bunnies in the chin. Once HBK heard that Mr Snickers made his rise to prominence by throwing other bunnies through the pet shop window, he had to take him home and make him a permanent addition to the family.

Word is Shawn and Mr Snickers will form a tag team known as “The Hoppers.”

Cmon. It’s Shawn Michaels and a giant rabbit. Are you not entertained?

Bobby Shark contributed heavily to this pun-laden post. Blame him.

Finishers – Strike Hard, Strike Fast

Can we talk about finishers for a few minutes?

We’ve all been in this situation: cruising around YouTube, jumping from clip-to-clip of all things wrestling.  Absolutely nothing wrong about that.  Inevitably, we come across a  video some rando made entitled “MY FAVORITE 50 FINISHERS!”  Most of these moves are innovative ways of dropping a man directly on his head and neck.  If you’re into that, God bless.  No one here is trying to talk you out of it.

There’s plenty of room in professional wrestling for power bombs, cutters, flippy-dos and the like.  Personally, I’m a fan of moves that are short and to the point, with very little wasted movement.  Sure, there can be a little grandstanding involved beforehand, but these Strike Finishers can all be executed in a snap.

DX to Headline WWE HOF ’13?

Earlier today, PWInsider reported that either The Kliq or D-Generation X would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame to headline the class of 2013.  Wrestlerzone later followed-up with a report that DX will be inducted.

The induction of DX would make Shawn Michaels (Class of 2011) the second two-time Hall of Famer, behind Ric Flair.  Flair was inducted by himself in 2008, and again with the Four Horsemen in 2012.  DX would be the second stable inducted.

If DX is really HOF-bound, one would be hard-pressed to come up with a counterargument, as the group was instrumental in ushering in the Attitude Era of the late 90s/early 00s.

A couple of questions quickly pop to mind.  An initial assumption is that the faction inducted would be the same as the one that appeared at RAW 1000 last summer: HBK, Triple H, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and X-Pac.  Chyna likely didn’t even get an invite to that huge anniversary show; would she be welcomed to the Hall of Fame?  Additionally, and maybe even less likely, would the WWE use this opportunity to induct Rick Rude?  Rude, an original member of DX, infamously left the WWE to appear on a live episode of Nitro, before he appeared on a taped RAW later in the evening.  I don’t have a clue as to whether Rude and Vince McMahon ever buried the hatchet prior to Rude’s death in 1999.

What do you think of this potential induction?  Do you think Chyna and/or Rick Rude warrant an invite?  Are there any other stables that you think deserve to be in the Hall of Fame?  Let us know in the comments section below, or tweet us @DukesWrestling!

Better yet, tell us in person at the Greene Turtle in Sterling, VA on January 27!

HBK Isn’t Comfortable “Just Letting This Go”

I thoroughly enjoyed SummerSlam, and it appears that most who came out to the Chad Dukes Wrestling Summer Slam Party did as well (more on that later today).  The match between Triple H and Brock Lesnar lived up to the fight that I thought it would be.  Unfortunately for the Cerebral Assassin, Lesnar was just a bit too much for him.  When we last saw Triple H, the thirteen time world champion was apologizing to the crowd while cradling an injured arm.

It sounds as though that if Shawn Michaels has his way, this may not be the last we see of this feud.

Monday Night Raw Preview 8/13/12 #1003

From the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas the last Raw before SummerSlam kicks off at 8pm on USA Network.  Over the weekend, WWE confirmed that Shawn Michaels would be making yet another appearance on the 3-hour spectacular. Will tonight be the night Brock Lesnar fulfills his promise of seeing Shawn Michaels before SummerSlam?

The big match being hyped for tonight’s show will be YOUR WWE Champion CM Punk taking on the Big Show in a non title match.  Much like Punk during the Cena/Show match, I’d expect John Cena to be at ringside for commentary.  Who knows maybe even a little chicanery will go on between these three men heading into their triple threat match at SummerSlam.
