Monday Night Raw Preview 3/14/16

Happy Monday, marks – we’ve finally got a clear shot to Wrestlemania! With less than three weeks until the big day, the WWE Universe descends upon an unsuspecting Pittsburgh, PA and let me tell ya – the big guns are out! Some pre-show notes (Roadblock spoilers include):

  • Tag Team Title Match: After pinning Sheamus and King Barrett with a little help from Xavier Woods, the New Day defends the tag team titles tonight against the other half of the League of Nations, Alberto del Rio and Rusev.
  • Big Names in the Building: The Undertaker has been confirmed for Raw, and it is rumored that Mick Foley and Daniel Bryan will also be making an appearance, with Bryan likely popping up in Brie Bella’s feud with Lana.
  • Hot Feuds Get Hotter: Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens and AJ Styles/Chris Jericho are arguably the hottest feuds going into Wrestlemania, so expect things to get even more personal between these four men.
  • Title Match Set?: After defeating Dean Ambrose at Roadblock, Triple H is set to take on Roman Reigns one-on-one at Wrestlemania for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, controversy could abound, as Dean-o DID get the three count, although his feet were under the ropes when it happened. Tonight will determine if that false finish will come into play in three weeks.

That’s it! Enjoy the show, marks!

Monday Night Raw Preview 2/29/16

Happy Leap Day, marks! We are officially on the road the Wrestlemania and things are popping off left and right! Tonight the WWE Universe descends upon Nashville for another HUGE night. The pre-show notes:

  • Dead Man Rising: Two huge returns in back to back weeks! Last week Shane McMahon was put into a Hell in a Cell match against the Undertaker for control of the company. While we were stoked about this development, it did raise some questions. Why would the Undertaker agree to this? Who’s side is the on??? Tonight we should get some answers as the American Badass returns to the squared circle.
  • Divas No. 1 Contender Match: Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks with a Wrestlemania title shot against Charlotte on the line. It’s a little surprising WWE is having this the same night as the Undertaker’s return, as it could headline an episode of Raw all on its own. No matter, hopefully the ladies get plenty of time to tear it up in the ring.
  • Roman’s Face: It’s messed up! Triple H fitted the Bigg Dogg for a crimson mask last week, and apparently Roman’s nose got smashed into several pieces. Will this keep Roman off TV (and from getting booed)? Gotta tune in to find out!
  • Road to Wrestlemania: With Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar already on the books, it’s time to start fleshing out the Wrestlemania card. The tag titles, the Intercontinental championship and the U.S. title are all still floating around, so expect contenders to emerge starting tonight.

That’s it! Enjoy the show and check back here at CDW for all your wrestling needs.

Monday Night Raw Preview 2/15/16

Welcome to California, WWE Universe! Things get hot in Anaheim as all hell is gonna break loose on Monday Night Raw. Big time pre-show notes:

  • Return of the Dudleys: Gotta admit, this has me more hyped than anything else going on right now. Last week we saw Bubba Ray and D-Von get back to their roots: brutal, nasty-ass heels. I spent most of my weekend watching old ECW Dudley Boys matches, and while this new iteration won’t be anywhere near that level of viciousness, this latest heel turn holds a lot of promise.
  • Brie’s Last Stand: Rumor has it, Brie Bella is not long for the WWE, which explains her title shot at Fast Lane. Being positioned as the last of her family left in WWE, look for Brie to get a big babyface push, starting tonight.
  • Fast Lane to Fast Lane: With this being the go-home Raw before Fast Lane, look for that card to get beefed up. Only four bouts are set, so there will likely be a tag match thrown in, a Kevin Owens match, and Styles vs. Jericho III.
  • Stone Cold Podcast: Stick around after Raw on the WWE Network as Stone Cold goes one-on-one with the Big One: Big Show! While Big Show might not seem like the sexiest guest, dude’s been around forever (including his time as The Giant in WCW), has wrestled against Stone Cold, and still has insight into today’s locker room. Should be a good one.

That’s it! Enjoy the show and check back here for the Day After Report!

Monday Night Raw Preview 2/8/16

Good afternoon, marks! It’s time to shake off that Super Bowl hangover and get primed for 3 scintillating hours of WWE action. Tonight’s show broadcasts LIVE from Seattle, Washington. Your pre-show notes:

  • No! No! No!: The good news: Daniel Bryan is back! The American Dragon makes his return to Raw in his home state of Washington. The bad news: according to D-Bry’s personal twitter account, it is to announce/explain his retirement. Let’s hope he shows up wearing a salmon blazer.
  • Lesnar: Brock Lesnar will be in the building to sow seeds of destruction between and within Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.
  • Sasha Banks’ Greatest Hits: In a fast-forwarded version of her time at NXT, Sasha Banks has already formed an uneasy alliance with Becky Lynch. Expect the two Divas to team up against jilted Naomi and Tamina Snuka tonight.
  • Styles Clash: AJ Styles continues to blaze a trail through WWE, and it looks like his first Wrestlemania opponent will be the Lionheart, Chris Jericho, with the Miz somehow running interference. Keep an eye on how this feud develops tonight.

That’s it! Enjoy the show and check back for the Day After report!

Monday Night Raw Preview 2/1/16

Welcome to February! WWE is on the fast lane to Fast Lane and with less than three weeks until the next live special, business is picking up in a big way. As Birmingham, Alabama prepares itself for tonight’s carnage, check out the pre-show notes:

  • The Beast of Marketing: Brock Lesnar will be in the arena tonight, presumably to have Paul E. Dangerously talk a little trash to his Fast Lane opponents. With the wrestling world still buzzing from Dean Ambrose’s interview with Michael Cole on last week, expect the tension between Lesnar and Ambrose to boil over, with the Wyatt Family running interference.
  • Era of Kalisto: With Alberto del Rio possibly on the shelf for a time, it looks like Kalisto will get to hang onto his U.S. title a bit longer than his previous run as champion. Already granting Neville a title shot last week on SmackDown, Kalisto is picking up right where John Cena left off, as a fighting champion.
  • Styles Clash: With Dam Ambrose currently involved in the main event picture, it looks like AJ Styles will have to deal with Kevin Owens in his first full program in WWE. Pants. Off.

Enjoy the show, marks! Be sure to come back for the Day After report!
