WrestleMania 33 Results

Another WrestleMania is in the books! Let’s run down the results, give some commentary, and most of all #ThankYouTaker.

Roman Reigns defeated The Undertaker in a No Holds Barred Match

Shortly before the entrances, it was announced that this match had been changed to a No Holds Barred Match and there would be a special guest commentator, Jim Ross. A very nice surprise to see/hear Good Ol’ JR in the house to call the Undertaker’s final ride.

Reigns scored the victory after a triple criss-cross spear for the final 1-2-3 of The Undertaker’s career. Undertaker was in control early on throwing Reigns through an announce table, but the tide turned soon after when Reigns returned the favor with a spear through another announce table. The crowd was solidly behind The Undertaker, as expected, cheering him on with every kick out but the sheer number of spears and a beat down with a steel chair became too much for the Deadman.

The end of this ‘Mania, however, won’t be remembered for this match itself, but the aftermath of The Undertaker calling it a career. After Reigns’ fireworks and a replay package, we returned to the ring to find Taker back in his full entrance gear. As Orlando looked on, Taker removed his gloves, coat, and hat, leaving them in the ring to signify the end of his legendary WWE run.

NXT Takeover: Orlando Results – WWE

NXT held another highly regarded Takeover Special last night at the Amway Center in Orlando which saw all three NXT Championships defended. Say what you will about their week-to-week show, the Takeover Specials are almost always impeccably booked and paced.

Drew McIntyre Returns…to NXT – Wrestling Observer

Shortly after being seen in the crowd at NXT Takeover and missing a match at the WWN Live Supershow, Drew Galloway aka Drew McIntyre announced he has signed with NXT and is targeting the NXT Championship.

Supercard of Honor Results – Wrestling Inc

Ring of Honor held it’s Supercard of Honor show headlined by a Ladder Match which saw the Bucks of Youth defeat the Broken Hardys to regain their Superkick Titles and the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships. Worth noting, the Hardys put over the Bucks in a big way on the microphone post-match, calling them the best team they’ve ever faced and closed with Jeff singing they’ll “fade away and classify ourselves as obsolete.” Add some fuel to the Hardys to WWE fire…

Dave Bautista Comments On #Broken Matt Hardy, Has It Jumped The Shark?

dave_batista

In a quoted tweet of our own Chad Dukes this afternoon, former WWE Champion, Chad Dukes Wrestling Show guest, and friend of the show, Dave Bautista shared his thoughts on “Broken” Matt Hardy and the “Broken” universe currently sweeping through Impact Wrestling. Spoiler alert: he doesn’t seem to be a fan.

Much of Broken Matt’s mania has surrounded his desire to protect the heir to his broken brilliance, son King Maxel. This week on Impact Wrestling, Hardy announced that at next week’s Total Non-Stop Deletion episode of Impact from the Hardy Compound, Maxel would be making his “in-ring debut,” resulting in the video retweeted by Dukes of King Maxel “deleting” along with his family, clad in his own version of his father’s ring attire.

As we all know, Big Dave is a good friend of the show and follows Big Shooter on Twitter, so after seeing the clip Bautista took time out of his busy schedule of being in ridiculously good shape with a wildly successful movie career (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 in theaters May of 2017 and Blade Runner 2049 coming soon), to offer his thoughts on the video.
