Open Fight Night returns as Impact Wrestling rolls through Arkansas.

Hardy vs. The Bikers

We know that the rematch between TNA Champ Bully Ray and Jeff Hardy is scheduled for two weeks on Impact Wrestling (4/11/13).  In the meantime, the #1 contender is expected to call out a member of the Aces & Eights tonight.  Of course, the rest of the rogue bikers will likely back up the challengee, so it will be interesting to see if Hardy gets support from his opponents in last week’s top contender match (Angle, Joe, Magnus).

Impact Wrestling Preview – 2/28/2013

It’s the final day of February 2013.  If you’re doing the math at home, it’s been about a month since you last saw Jeff Hardy on Impact Wrestling.  Hardy was pulled from the organization’s tour of England due to his 2009 legal issues in the country.  As a result, the World Championship match for the upcoming pay-per-view has had even less build-up than usual.

Hulk Hogan himself said last week that, if it were up to him, Hardy would have been stripped of the title so that the company could tour with its champion.  But, here we are.  A month older, a month wiser, and 10 days out from one of the four TNA pay-per-views of calendar year 2013.  TNA is stateside, so there are two episodes of Impact Wrestling to build a feud and (in an ideal world) a meaningful match between arguably the company’s two top faces.

That said, tonight’s preview is after the jump.  Enjoy, and remember to tweet us @DukesWrestling during the show.

Impact Wrestling Preview – 2/14/13

The British Invasion rolls on!  It may be Valentine’s Day, but tell your lady (or dude) that you’ll be spending it watching Impact Wrestling and tweeting the guys from @DukesWrestling.

Impact’s pre-recorded tonight, but this preview is unspoiled.  Let’s do this.

Who Is The #1 Contender?

Tournament alert!

GM Hulk Hogan has to decide who’ll face World Champ Jeff Hardy in just over a month at Lockdown.  Normally the Hulkster would do this by bringing a bunch of guys into a room and, through a series of backstage segments, decide who impressed him the most.  However, it looks like the powers-that-be finally came to their senses and decided a series of actual wrestling matches could be more entertaining.  What’s better, we get a #1 Contender’s tournament out of the deal!  It’s my understanding that just the first round matches will take place tonight.

  • Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe
  • Magnus vs. Christopher Daniels
  • Austin Aries vs. Bobby Roode
  • James Storm vs. Rob Van Dam

I unapologetically love tournaments.  You’re either with me, or against me.

Conspicuous by his absence is son-in-law Bully Ray, who reportedly suffered a leg injury in last week’s table match.  But, fear not.  Impact Wrestling is advertising that Bully and wife Brooke will be in England to celebrate V-Day.  No chance whatsoever the festivities get broken up by, say, a band of rogue bikers.

Impact Wrestling Preview: 1/24/2013

Tonight’s edition of Impact Wrestling is not being billed as a “Championship Thursday,” but we have two title matches nonetheless.  Here’s what to look for on tonight’s card.

Hardy vs. Daniels – World Title

Christopher Daniels became the #1 Contender to Jeff Hardy’s World Title at Genesis.  The Fallen Angel gets his title match tonight.  Daniels was unarguably one of the most entertaining wrestlers of 2012, in-and-out of the ring, regardless of promotion.  What’s more, he and Jeff are going to put on a killer show tonight.  It’s good to see Daniels back at the top of the card.

One better – Daniels may have Hardy all to himself, at least for the night.  Last week, it appeared as though the mutual-respect relationship of Bobby Roode and Austin Aries will carry them into a feud with Hernandez and Guerrero.  Here’s hoping Kazarian is also banned from ringside for the match, and they give it a full half-hour.

More on tonight’s show after the jump.

Please note that the invitation is from “Mr. Bully Ray.”  At least there’s that.

Here’s what’s coming up on Impact Wrestling this evening.

The Wedding

The whirlwind romance has led to tonight, and the pending nuptials between Brooke Hogan and Bully Ray will likely be the focus of the show.  A parallel storyline which may eclipse the preparations of the bride and groom concerns the father-of-the-bride.  I suppose that, since the wedding is taking place on Impact Wrestling, GM Hogan can simply squash it.  Or, will he accept that his only daughter is really happy with a 40-something who spent a decent part of the last decade putting women through tables?

Aces & 8s will certainly involve themselves.  Bully thwarted their near-apprehension of his fiance last week, and then at Genesis assisted Sting in driving back the majority of the group.

I’ve seen some smarks kicking around various conspiracy theories about tonight, but wrestling weddings usually go off without a hitch.  What could go wrong?
