Dave Bautista Comments On #Broken Matt Hardy, Has It Jumped The Shark?

dave_batista

In a quoted tweet of our own Chad Dukes this afternoon, former WWE Champion, Chad Dukes Wrestling Show guest, and friend of the show, Dave Bautista shared his thoughts on “Broken” Matt Hardy and the “Broken” universe currently sweeping through Impact Wrestling. Spoiler alert: he doesn’t seem to be a fan.

Much of Broken Matt’s mania has surrounded his desire to protect the heir to his broken brilliance, son King Maxel. This week on Impact Wrestling, Hardy announced that at next week’s Total Non-Stop Deletion episode of Impact from the Hardy Compound, Maxel would be making his “in-ring debut,” resulting in the video retweeted by Dukes of King Maxel “deleting” along with his family, clad in his own version of his father’s ring attire.

As we all know, Big Dave is a good friend of the show and follows Big Shooter on Twitter, so after seeing the clip Bautista took time out of his busy schedule of being in ridiculously good shape with a wildly successful movie career (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 in theaters May of 2017 and Blade Runner 2049 coming soon), to offer his thoughts on the video.

Fans often get excited when a former WWE talent hits the independent circuit to ply their trade in more intimate environments, but no superstar in recent memory has caused as much of a stir in the wrestling world with their post-WWE career plans as former 6-time tag team champion and 2-time Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes.

After releasing the now infamous checklist in May, Rhodes is lining up a who’s who of dream matches that fill the remainder of 2016, beginning on August 19th in Joppa, MD at Evolve 66 and continue through Ring of Honor’s Final Battle pay-per-view on December 2nd in New York City.

In one of the most relaxed and conversational interviews we’ve had on the show, Cody joined this week’s Chad Dukes Wrestling Show for an amazing 20-minute discussion on topics ranging from land dealings with Bray Wyatt to his upcoming part on CW’s Arrow to Evolve and Ring of Honor to the chance we see him in the Lucha Underground temple and more.

Dave Bautista Open to WWE Return…at Live Events

Dave Bautista was interviewed at the London premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron and dropped a nugget regarding his wrestling future.

When asked if he’d ever return to WWE, Bautista responded that he would but not to make a big splash.

“I talked to Chris Jericho who’s a good friend of mine recently, he does a lot of untelevised events, that’s all he does. I think I may take that path and try to go back and do untelevised events. With television, you’re just too locked into the scripts which I don’t think are great these days. I just want to go back and entertain the fans.”

Would you like to see Batista come back in such a capacity? Or is his star power too huge now for WWE to restrict it to live events?

Check out the whole interview above.
