CM Punk may be on hiatus for WWE, but he is part of the latest “Gracie Breakdown” video, breaking down the Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza/Chris Comozzi finish at UFC on FX 8. If you’re into videos of Jiu-Jitsu masters demonstrating moves on The Best in the World this is the video for you!

Monday Night RAW Preview – 4/22/13
Has ANYONE checked to see if Heath Slater can actually walk? Anyone? … Someone? …
Tonight’s RAW has actually already been pretaped – as it emanated LIVE from the O2 Arena in London. Yes, I am aware spoilers are available. But that defeats the purpose of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!
Don’t be that guy.
There is a lot to look forward to tonight! Primarily, European crowds are awesome. Most fans are really dialed into the quality of the live arena crowd at RAW and Smackdown after experiencing a dead crowd in Buffalo some weeks back, and the outrageous crowd on RAW post-Wrestlemania. They may have botched the whole dubya-dubya-2 thing, but Europe really has their crowd participation down solid.
Also in que for tonight (see what I did there?)…
- THE BROTHERS OF DESTRUCTION are reuniting!
One of the top Tag-Teams of all time are uniting with the current Team Hell No iteration and will be taking on the Shield in 6-man tag action.
- Brock Lesnar stole all of the attention off of Triple H regarding his WM29 win by way of assassinating 3MB.
What will be The Game’s response? He’s in London ya know!
- CM Punk walked out on RAW last week with a shoulder shrug and a brother hug with Paul Heyman.
Will he show up tonight – or will Paul explain his absence, of that which will be quite noticeable.
- Jack Swagger, for all of his decrees, has lost to everyone. Is he out of the World Heavyweight Title hunt?
If so, who is in? Is it Alberto Del Rio – or someone who has yet to be named?
- Will John Cena have a response to Ryback allowing the champ to be dismantled by the Shield?
So many wrinkles here. WWE.com is teasing a possible fourth member of the Shield. Is this just conjecture, or is there one more person waiting to be added to this stable?
Hang with us tonight @dukeswrestling as we discuss all this, and nothing else whatsoever!
The Morning Roundup – 4/22/2013
Welcome to a new week. Raw is on tonight, heck yeah. Here we go!
Top 10 European Matches – WWE on Youtube
Tonight, Raw is in England. In preparation, last night, the WWE dropped this video on their YouTube page. Honestly, I’m shocked a diva’s match from the last decade is on a list of any “top matches.” I love #7, long live Regal! When #5 happened, I truly believed Santino was just some guy from Italy…whoops. Shocker, John Cena is a top 10 list, but thankfully it is a loss to HBK. And lastly, #1 is the #1 of all #1. As soon as I clicked the link, I knew what #1 was. An iconic match and a reaction/crowd that soon not be repeated.
Monday Night RAW Preivew 4/15/13
Remember this match? It happened, ya know.
At this point in last weeks (now fabled) RAW broadcast the post-Wrestlemania crowd had sufficiently hijacked the show and chanted over and around this match – certainly not about it. I felt the guys deserved the top spot – which is impressive seeing what I had previously planned for today.
It’s been a week since, and tons of coverage and acknowledgement of the phenomenon that is a hodge-podge of super fans collected under one roof (not open air dome) and the power they have to influence, albeit steer the show.
Coming from South Carolina tonight, RAW will attempt to continue to pick up the pieces from the Wrestlemania season.
- CM Punk will address the crowd regarding his loss to the Undertaker
- John Cena will undoubtedly have a reaction to getting laid out by Ryback
- The Rock is out with an injury and to film Hercules – Will the WWE use part-timer Brock Lesnar for the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV?
- Team Hell No has been popping up anytime the Shield has.
- Fandangoing is reallllly threatening to go viral. This is an amazing moment in time where the momentum can match perception and this character could completely take off and skyrocket to the main event scene.
- And Dolph Ziggler will enter RAW officially as the WHC. I am sure we will see him in a match tonight – the only question is who’s first?
It’s going to be a busy week.
Monday Night RAW Preview 4/8/12
RUMORS RUMORS RUMORS!!!
The chickens are CLUCKING in the hen house fellas.
Let’s get started:
FIRST – Wrestlemania 29 was pretty damn good. It shattered records and did amazing business. It was a good show and certainly delivered. I understand many people feel it was not the best Wrestlemania ever. I’ll take that though. A mediocre Wrestlemania (which in my opinion this certainly was not) is still FAR superior than to whatever else dull (Walking) bore (Dead) show you could have watched on a Sunday night. Definitely worth my $60.
Second – and NEWWWWWWWW Champion – Jereeehhhhhhhrrrrnnnnnnnnnnn CeeeeeeeeenHAAAAAAAA. Yes yes, “the champ” is certainly “here.” Welcome back as well. He earned it, being the top worker/face/heel/dreamboat. Let’s start the rumor mill a churning though.
It seems that as the dust was settling tonight in New Jersey, John and Rock would part ways amicably – but to match last years run in, Brock Lesnar would take umbrage and this time, he would F5 the Rock. POSSIBLY setting up a future angle. Here’s the problem; Dwayne left. Like, hopped a plane and stone cold two finger salute left. So uh, what now? Dunno. I guess we’ll see.
Third – we all saw that the Tons of Funk/Rhodes Scholars + Divas match got nixed due to time constraints. I kind of understand that they wanted to give the marquis matches ample time – BUT they did run 4 lengthy video packages trying to hype the main event and such. RUMOR is the match will spill over to tonight. Hopefully they get their time and a little extra spotlight, those involved in this match are solid mid-card guys.
Fourth – CM Punk MIGHT have actually injured himself in that spot pictured above. It was truly amazing, and I cannot believe the SPANISH ANNOUNE TABLE DIDN’T break!! I mean, after all these years of crashing through the Spanish broadcast team and ruining their night the press-board table actually held under this bomb?! Incredible. Well, it may have made for a rough landing for Punk who is rumored to have injured his knee, but STILL pushed through the match at the same intensity. This guy is a 10. I will buy all the ice cream bars with his mug on it.
Anything can happen at Wrestlemania; and even more can happen the day after. It’s a good day to be a mark fan.
