Impact Wrestling Preview – 4/4/2013

Tonight is the final edition of Impact Wrestling before the big event on 4/11/13, when no fewer than two titles will be defended.

Bully-Brooke Summit

TNA World Champ Bully Ray really wants to speak with Mrs. Ray, but she just isn’t returning his phone calls.  Perhaps Bully missed a golden opportunity to call out Brooke on last week’s Open Fight Night, but he’ll likely force a confrontation tonight.  Bully Ray has made it abundantly clear that he and his wife are together ’til death, and there’s nothing for the Hogan’s to offer to get him to change his mind.  Still, you can fully expect to see the Hulkster intervene.

Number-one contender Jeff Hardy should also get in the mix somehow.  It always seems like Hardy is an afterthought when it comes to the World Title, even when he was champion.

Hardy vs. The Bikers

We know that the rematch between TNA Champ Bully Ray and Jeff Hardy is scheduled for two weeks on Impact Wrestling (4/11/13).  In the meantime, the #1 contender is expected to call out a member of the Aces & Eights tonight.  Of course, the rest of the rogue bikers will likely back up the challengee, so it will be interesting to see if Hardy gets support from his opponents in last week’s top contender match (Angle, Joe, Magnus).

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: Two titles are on the line, and the President of the Aces & Eights explains how he conned the wrestling world for the better part of the year.

Bully Ray Reveals The Entire Con

This is pretty interesting.  Tonight, Bully Ray is scheduled to breakdown the step-by-step details of the Aces & Eights plan to gain control of TNA. The following statement from the club is on ImpactWrestling.com:

“Our President Bully Ray will be on IMPACT and tell the whole 9 months story on how he pulled of the greatest con in history! We’re talking about a step by step video look at Bully’s genius for those who questioned the Aces and 8s plan!”

Storylines have culminated before with a heel talking about how he’s fooled the world with a pseudo-face turn, maybe going back a few weeks or months.  Have any gone back nine months?  That’s a lot of ground to cover, and even more questions to answer.  Why D-Lo as the VP and not Devon?  Why a biker gang at all?

It’s a bold move for TNA to put the angle under a microscope.  I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

Aces & Eights take over Impact Wrestling Web Presence

In a new-age version of the nWo taking over Monday Nitro, last night during Impact Wrestling THE Aces & Eights (TM Bully Ray) “took over” TNA/Impact Wrestling’s website, Twitter, and Facebook. As of this morning all the sites were still under control of the Deadman’s hand.

After an Impact Wrestling where the biker group seemed very nWo-like:  disrupting a tag team title match, attacking stars in the back, and interrupting the main event; TNA took the angle to the next level by having the champion and his crew plastered all over their web presence.

Family Feud

As has been well covered at this point, Bully Ray seduced a woman half his age in order to get the General Manager to grant him a world title shot, in an effort to bring power and prestige to his rogue biker gang.  (Cool?  Cool.)

That’s where we were after Sunday’s Lockdown pay-per-view.  Bully Ray had his time on the microphone to gloat following his victory over Jeff Hardy, and he’ll likely do more of the same tonight.  However, GM Hogan and Executive-in-Charge-of-the-Knockouts (ECK) Brooke will also have the opportunity to respond.  How does Hulk plan to follow-up on his threat (“You’re a dead man”) to President Bully Ray?  How quickly does Brooke get the divorce papers drawn up?  These questions, and more, need to be addressed tonight.
