Austin Aries to be punished for sexual harassment of Christy Hemme

The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived, may become The Greatest Man Who Ever Took A Sexual Harassment Course.

A-Double, Austin Aries is under a bit of fire for the incident in the video above. During last Thursday’s live Impact Wrestling, ring announcer Christy Hemme erroneously announced Bad Influence when Austin Aries & Bobby Roode were heading out to the ring first to face Bad Influence. After cornering Hemme and waiting for a correction, Aries proceeded to climb the ropes in front of Hemme, trapped in the corner, his man parts in front of her.

Clearly not pleased, Hemme voiced her displeasure later in the evening on Twitter. Continue reading →

New TNA Tag Team Champions

mex

I find it odd when relatively new teams are booked in matches where they will “never team again.” Such was the case on last night’s Impact Wrestling when Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez put their team on the line against Bobby Roode and Austin Aries’ TNA Tag Team Champions in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match.

In what can only be described as a miscarriage of justice (sorry big Aries mark here), Guerrero & Hernandez prevailed 2 falls to 1 to regain the TNA Tag Team Championship from Austin & Roode aka the Dirty Heels. While the tag team action was quite enjoyable, oddly, the first two falls occurred VERY early into the match essentially negating the multi-fall stipulation.

First and foremost, congrats to the Texans natives, Guerrero & Hernandez on their victory. Your boy Louis isn’t doing backflips over the victory however. TNA has thrown away, at least for the gold, a TNA tag team dream match of sorts that had been teased previously on Impact: Bad Influence (Daniels & Kazarian) versus Dirty Heels (Roode & Aries).

Between WWE, TNA, and ROH, there’s a lot of gold changing hands in the wrestling world this week.

Quite the Impact Wrestling show last night: Christopher Daniels moves up the card, Velvet Sky looked amazing, Aries & Roode form an uneasy alliance, a wrestling wedding, Taz joined Aces and Eights, and Brooke Hogan’s top slipped off.

I had the rare occasion with my schedule to check out a story filled TNA Impact Wrestling on the day of the show I thought I’d review the newsworthy events emerging from a packed Impact.

Taz joins Aces and Eights.

While the shock value and ensuing attack by Aces and Eights made for great pro-wrestling television, the turn of Taz to Aces and Eights is a little confusing on the surface. The brawl and beatdown by the biker faction: top notch chaos. However, Taz can’t wrestle anymore and if he’s not the leader of the gang, does it have any more impact than when Taz also joined the Main Event Mafia?  I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and see where this goes and I hope TNA actually has a plan with this heel turn. For instance, Taz could really help get the faction over with his mic work and his role in Gut Check could lead to some interesting developments. Are there moles in TNA because of Taz/Gut Check?

Impact Wrestling Preview: 1/10/2013

Three days out from Genesis, with a tag team main event tonight.  Let’s do this.

Main Event

GM Hogan had previously set this match as Austin Aries and Bobby Roode, Co-Number-One Contenders, against Jeff Hardy and a partner of his choosing.  It was announced earlier this week on Twitter that Hardy had selected James Storm.  The three-way feud between Hardy, Aries, and Roode continues into their World Title bout on Sunday.

Two potential (and fairly obvious) stories to watch for in this match…

  • How will Austin and Roode be able to co-exist tonight, and/or which one bails on the match?
  • Will Christopher Daniels, Cowboy’s opponent for Genesis, get involved?

More on tonight’s Impact after the jump.

Impact Wrestling Preview: 01-13-2013

1/3/13.  TNA has been advertising this day as the return of Sting to Impact Wrestling.  The Stinger is coming back with the goal of eradicating Impact Wrestling of the Aces & 8s once and for all.  Is there any among you who won’t mark the f-out when Sting inevitably takes on the entire gang, aided only by a black baseball bat?  If he’s in a trench coat with black-and-white face paint, I’m turning over furniture.

Also on the agenda tonight: Hulk Hogan calls out Brooke and Bully Ray.  Again.  I really try to view angles like this with a positive spin.  After all, they must be going somewhere with this… right?

Full show preview after the jump.
