Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Results – WWE

AJ Styles retained the WWE World Championship with the aid of James Ellsworth in the main event of last night’s TLC event. Styles & Ambrose pulled out all the stops including an insane 450 splash from the ring to a table at ringside by AJ and an Ambrose elbow from the top of a ladder mounted on one announce table through the other announce table.  Also of note, two championships changed hands as Alexa Bliss defeated Becky Lynch in a Tables Match for the Women’s Championship and Bray Wyatt finally won his first WWE championship as he and Randy Orton defeated Rhyno & Heath Slater to become SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions.

Final Battle Results – Ring of Honor

Not to be outdone, several big happenings occurred at Ring of Honor’s Final Battle pay-per-view Friday Night in New York City. Kyle O’Reilly defeated Adam Cole for the ROH World Championship, The Kingdom were crowned the first ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes debuted and turned heel against Lethal and the Ring of Honor fans, and it was revealed that Broken Matt Hardy and Brother Nero would be coming to Ring of Honor to challenge “The Bucks of Youth” and “Dim Boys”.

Recently recovered from pneumonia, Adam Cole will be wrestling in the main event of Aftershock this Friday with fellow Bullet Club members Adam Page and Nick Jackson as they take on Team ROH: Current ROH World Champion Jay Lethal, Colt Cabana, and Jay Briscoe.  Cole talked about literally wrestling with pneumonia prior to his hospitalization, and the toll it took on his body.

“I’ve wrestled with flus where I’ve had a very high fever, I’ve wrestled with pretty serious injuries that later required surgery, but when you have pneumonia the craziest thing is it’s so difficult to breathe, so I had an inhaler which really, really helped me.  The nerves you have from performing are multiplied because getting oxygen through your body into your brain is more difficult, so that was definitely probably the hardest thing for me.  I lost a lot of weight too but that’s part of the challenges, the mindset of the show must go on.  Fortunately I’ve rested up, I’m feeling pretty good. That’s the advantage of being a twenty six-year old healthy young adult.”

Prior to his illness, Cole became one of the newest members of the Bullet Club at Ring of Honor’s Global Wars in May, helping The Guerrillas of Destiny and The Young Bucks interrupt the Jay Lethal-Colt Cabana championship match leaving mayhem, super kicks, and destruction in their wake.   Cole talked about joining the Bullet Club and its impact on the wrestling industry.
