WWE Main Event Preview 6/19/13

There’s some serious star power gracing WWE Main Event this evening as The Shield makes its return to Wednesday nights! Two other intriguing matches fill out the card.

1. The Shield vs. The Usos & Justin Gabriel

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen The Shield in trios action, as they’ve spent the past weeks defending their respective titles. Tonight should be a fun one, as they run up against the suddenly-formidable Jimmy and Jey Uso and the South African Main Event staple, Justin Gabriel.

2. Antonio Cesaro vs. Sin Cara

These two squared off two weeks ago on Raw with Zeb Colter on commentary, prior to his formal alliance with Cesaro. Sin Cara lost that match, but gets another crack at the Swiss Superman, although this time he’ll have to contend with Colter’s antics at ringside. Colter has made no secret about his dislike for Sin Cara, and that repugnance will no doubt rear it’s head during this showdown.

3. Kaitlyn vs. Aksana

A rare Divas match on Main Event! Kaitlyn’s been in a downward spiral since being reduced to nothing by AJ Lee. It will be interesting to see if she can productively channel that rage into a victory over Aksana, or if her emotions will get the better of her, allowing Aksana to score the win.

Report: Youth Used “WWE-style” Moves in Death of Sister

wwe_default

Tragic news out of New Orleans as multiple news outlets are reporting a 13-year old boy has been charged with the murder of his 5-year old sister after using what has been described as “WWE-style” moves.

According to the article:

The moves allegedly included slamming the girl on a bed, punching her in the stomach, jumping on her and striking her with his elbow. A coroner’s investigation found the girl died of multiple internal injuries….

WWE offered condolences to the victim’s family but said the death could not be attributed to its industry but rather to “criminal intent and parental neglect.”

Without getting too much into the legalities of the situation, it is certainly a sad situation but it’s hard to fault WWE in taking a defensive stance since their company was named multiple times in the reports.

The Morning Roundup – 6/19/2013

Morning News RoundUp 2Who knows what day it is? Yup, Hump day.  Lets get to it!

Bryan Legit Hurt – LOP

In the oddest moment during Raw, Daniel Bryant seemed to suffer a stinger and be medically pulled from his match.  Its hard to tell if it came when Orton let him almost die on his aptly named Suicide Dive or when he landed flush on his back after the dropkick.  My vote, a combo.  Nevertheless, the match was stopped and called in favor of Orton. This was the wrong move Trips, at least in the eyes of Bryan.  Reports have him yelling at HHH (to be a fly on the wall) and getting really mad about the whole situation.  HHH is in a story line where he did the same thing and reacted the same way, its all backwards.   Hopefully, Bryan recovers quickly has “The Summer of Daniel”   Continue reading →

Raw Kicks WWE Summer Season Off with a Bang

What a 48 hr period in WWE. I can’t remember a more tumultuous and eventful two days in quite some time. Returns, double crosses, double turns, a power struggle, new stables, and Sheamus debuted 1-800-FELLA…well, they can’t all be winners.

Last night’s edition of Raw is a prime example of WWE at its best: shocking occurrences setting up the summer storyline. In past years we’ve been treated to summertime gems like the pipebomb promo that spawned the Summer of Punk, the Nexus debut, or last year’s Brock-HHH feud which brought Paul Heyman back onto the WWE scene. This time it looks like we’ve got a number of fires burning.

WWE set a high bar last night launching a number of summertime storylines and building a potentially blockbuster SummerSlam card.

Lesnar-Punk

The long rumored feud for Summerslam has been set in to motion. CM Punk and Paul Heyman cut ties as “client-manager” but vowed to remain friends. Until Brock Lesnar had something to say about it. Much like Mark Henry’s storyline (more on that later), I don’t know who predicted we’d see Brock Lesnar back on WWE TV so far in advance of Summer Slam. Now that we’ve seen the F5 heard round the world, I have full confidence Punk and Heyman will carry the bulk of this feud with some masterful mic work.

Coolest Pic You’ll See All Day

Ok, I am writing this while chuckling like a child that just saw a silly cat video on YouTube for the first time.

He looks amaaaaazing. How many CC’s do you think that is?

I’ve been getting a little burnt out on Wrestling lately, but after last nights Raw, and now THIS…I’m back!!!

Where do you think he’s headed? And what could those guys in the background possibly be leering at in the pen?! Hey, look to the left, it’s Andre the Giant on a trike. I think that’s waaaaaaaaay better than whatever horses, goats, moo-cows, or llamas are in that enclosure.

How gloriously short are those shorts that Andre is wearing. I guess after wearing the single strap singlet for so long, he just needs as much thigh out there as possible.

My day is so much better now due to this, I hope yours is as well.
