Still Ms. Money In the Bank – WWE

Carmella won the second ever women’s Money in the Bank Match last night on SmackDown Live to regain the briefcase she won a few weeks ago at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. James Ellsworth did interject himself into the match despite being banned from the arena, but this time Carmella was able to grab the case herself to win the match.

Punjabi Prison Match – Wrestling Observer

Also announced on last night’s show, the Punjabi Prison Match is back. Jinder Mahal will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the Prison match, which hasn’t been seen in WWE in 10 years.

Tyson Kidd– Pro Wrestling Sheet

Tyson Kidd, who hasn’t wrestled since 2015 after an injury during a match with Samoa Joe, is reportedly set to start a non-wrestling role with WWE. No word yet if that means he will be a backstage agent, performance center coach, announcer, or something else entirely.

Matches Added To Great Balls of Fire – Wrestling Observer

Several new bouts were announced for July 9th’s Great Balls of Fire last night on Raw. Sasha Banks won a #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match to earn a shot at Alexa Bliss’ Raw Women’s Championship, Akira Tozawa will challenge Neville for the Cruiserweight Championship, and Bray Wyatt will clash with Seth Rollins.

Ross and Lita To Call The Mae Young Classic – Pro Wrestling Sheet

WWE Hall of Famer Lita will be joining fellow Hall of Famer Jim Ross on the broadcast of the upcoming Mae Young Classic women’s tournament on WWE Network. The show tapes in two weeks with the first four episodes available on demand on August 28th, the second batch of four episodes available September 5th, and a live finale from Las Vegas, NV on September 12th at 10 PM.

Lucha Underground Stars to Impact Slammiversary – Cageside Seats

Drago and El Hijo de Fantasma (King Cuerno on Lucha Underground) will be part of a four-way tag team match against LAX and two additional international teams to be named later for the Impact Tag Team Championships at Slammiversary on July 2nd.

Omega-Okada III Highlights G1 Climax Block Announcement – With Spandex

The blocks for the round robin G1 Climax tournament have been announced and we now know that part three in the trilogy of Kenny Omega versus Okada will take place during the tournament. With Okada holding one win and the second match ending in a draw, you have to think Omega takes match three setting up a match to settle it all down the line.

New Ring of Honor Champion – ROH Wrestling

Cody Rhodes defeated Christopher Daniels Friday Night in Lowell, MA at the Best in the World PPV to capture his first World Championship. Also on the show in an unlikely upset, Dalton Castle and the Boys defeated The Briscoes and Bully Ray to win the ROH Six Man Tag Team Championships.

Mae Young Classic Names: Round 2 – WWE

More names for the Mae Young Classic were announced this weekend: Tessa Blanchard (Daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard), Abbey Laith (fka Kimber Lee), Judoka Taynara Conti, Jazzy Gabert (MMA Fighter and fka Alpha Female), and Kavita Devi (Student of the Great Khali in his Continental Wrestling Entertainment promotion in India). That makes 9 of the 32 names officially announced for the tournament, however, two more wrestlers will join the tournament in qualifying matches which will air on upcoming NXT episodes.

NXT Debuts – What Culture

ROH Star Bobby Fish made his NXT debut at the recent television taping against Aleister Black. Also at the taping, Mauro Ranallo made his return to the company joining the NXT broadcast team.

Lavar Ball to Raw? – Pro Wrestling Sheet

And finally… Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that WWE is working to have attention seeker and father of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball appear on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Good, great, grand, wonderful.

Russo-Cornette – WrestleZone

The feud between former WWE Creative talents has escalated to the point where one feels the need to take legal action. Jim Cornette posted a photo showing that Vince Russo has filed an “Emergency Protective Order” him claiming the Louisville Lip has been stalking him. The pair has been antagonists for years but recently rekindled their feud after comments made during Cornette’s appearance on WWE Network’s Table For 3, Cornette’s podcast, and Russo’s video “apology” to Cornette.

Kimber Lee Gets Her NXT Name – Pro Wrestling Sheet

While fellow recent NXT Signee Ruby Riot received her NXT name almost immediately, it took the other big independent women’s signee a little longer. Kimber Lee will now be known as Abbey Laith. She announced the change on her social media accounts. In her previous NXT appearances, on live events and a few enhancement talent appearances, she used her real name Kimberly Frankele, but now that she has an NXT name perhaps that means an official “debut” either on NXT or the Mae Young Classic is imminent.

Roddy vs. Roode: July 5th – Cageside Seats

After a backstage brawl that aired on last night’s NXT involving NXT Champion Roode insulting Roderick Strong, fiancé Marina Shafir and their son Troy as they entered the arena, the champion will now defend the title against Strong on the July 5th edition of NXT.
