John Cena to Host Kids’ Choice Awards – Lords of Pain

Flair Statue at Mania Axxess – Pro Wrestling Sheet

Much like the statues WWE already has for Andre the Giant, Bruno Sammartino, Dusty Rhodes and Ultimate Warrior, a statue of Ric Flair will be unveiled by WWE during WrestleMania 33 weekend in Orlando. The beans were spilled when the model being used for the full body mold posted a photo to his Facebook. Orlando was the site of Flair’s initial retirement match against Shawn Michaels, before unretiring for TNA shortly thereafter.

Royal Rumble Card – WWE

Several new matches were added to Sunday’s Royal Rumble PPV on last night’s Raw. Right now, perhaps intentionally, the show is very Raw-centric with only one SmackDown Live match scheduled so far. Perhaps more superstars from the Blue Brand will see action scheduled following tonight’s SmackDown Live?

Pentagon Jr No More – Wrestling Observer

Lucha Underground standout Pentagon Jr aka Pentagon Dark has quit his home promotion in Mexico, AAA, showing up at Konnan’s promotion “The Crash” in Tijuana, and announcing his intentions to be a fully independent wrestler. Due to AAA owning Pentagon Jr and Lucha Underground owning Pentagon Dark, he has changed his ring name to Penta El Cero Miedo, stylized as Penta El 0M. Since Lucha Underground is owned by AAA, no official word has been given if the departure will affect the happenings at the Temple. The show has the second half of Season 3 already recorded with Season 4 not set to film until November of this year. Penta follows Sexy Star (now Sexy DULCE) and Fenix (now Fenix El Rey) out of AAA and possibly Lucha Underground.

UK Talent Pulled by WWE – Pro Wrestling Sheet

Tyler Bate, Trent Seven and Pete Dunne have been pulled from a wXw event in London on January 28th by WWE. Speculation has begun that since the event is one day before the Royal Rumble, the trio could be making appearances at either NXT TakeOver/NXT taping on Saturday or the Royal Rumble match on Sunday. Bate, being the WWE UK Champion seems like a no-brainer surprise entrant in the Rumble and would be a throwback to early rumbles with some very random, less celebrated surprise entrants (Doug Gilbert or Carlos Colon anyone?).  Or maybe they could be being brought over for a UK Tournament Final rematch against Dunne or a title defense on either day.

#TooSweetOrDelete Set for Mania Weekend – Cageside Seats

It looks like if Thom wants to see the Broken Hardys versus the Bucks of Youth he’ll have to make that 45-minute drive from Orlando to Lakeland, Florida.  Ring of Honor announced yesterday that the match will take place at Supercard of Honor on April 1st in Lakeland, FL.  Unfortunately, it looks like the only way to see the match will be if you’re in the building. From the press release:

This dream tag team match will happen LIVE in Lakeland and will not be broadcast. The only way to see this one is to be there LIVE!

AJ Styles Robbed at Live Event – Pro Wrestling Sheet

The face that runs the place was the victim of theft at a live event Monday night in Arkansas. According to the Arkansas State University police, AJ Styles reported a bag containing $1000 in US cash and $7,000 yen, an iPhone, Beats headphones, and his Xbox briefcase containing a small TV, Xbox 360 and games was stolen from the arena while he was performing at the venue Monday night.

Angle Talks Hall of Fame – Lords of Pain

Kurt Angle was the guest of Jonathan Coachman on the weekly WWE segment on ESPN Sportscenter. Angle talks about receiving the call from Triple H, his painkiller issue that led to his initial departure, his relationship with Vince McMahon, and more.
