Wild Card Finals – Lords of Pain

As we found out last night, SmackDown is holding a pretty big show next Tuesday for free on USA. SmackDown Live’s “Wild Card Finals” will feature three championship matches: AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin; Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch; and The Wyatt Family vs. American Alpha vs. The Usos vs. Slater & Rhyno.  Also on the show is the return of John Cena.

Welcome to Slamtown – Lucha Underground

Lucha Underground Champion Johnny Mundo has released a music video for his new track “Welcome to Slamtown.” It’s as pompous a track as you’d expect from The Guru of Greatness. Enjoy.

Sting: Intimidation Coach – Pro Wrestling Sheet

As much as I loath linking to something Dallas Cowboys related, this is pretty good. Sting recorded a sketch for the Dallas Cowboys where he took a fictional job as “Intimidation Coach” for their YouTube.

New Raw Tag Team Championships – WWE

The Copper titles have been put out to pasture with the end of the New Day’s historic reign. Last night on Raw, WWE unveiled new Raw Tag Team Championships, in the same vein as the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, featuring Silver Plates and brand appropriate leather straps.

Zack Ryder Injury Timetable – With Spandex

In a Twitter exchange with a fan, Zack Ryder disclosed he could be out anywhere from 4-9 months recovering from a knee injury suffered on SmackDown Live during the #1 contender’s Battle Royal last Tuesday.

New Japan English Site – NJPW

New Japan Pro Wrestling has launched an English language website to promote this year’s WrestleKingdom 11. The site also runs through the events in New Japan during 2016.

Roadblock Results – WWE

The final WWE pay-per-view of the year Roadblock: End of the Line was held last night and saw two new champions crowned, a heel turn, and more. Check out the results above and tune into this week’s show to hear Dukes, Goat, & Thom’s take on the show.

PWG Mystery Vortex Results – Wrestling Observer

Chris Hero addressed his situation with possibly returning to WWE at PWG’s Mystery Vortex show this weekend.  Hero said that he really doesn’t know his status right now, it may be his last time here and it may not be, citing previous signees who were set to join WWE but then ended up out because things change at the last-minute.

Lesnar Suspended From UFC – MMA Fighting

In big WWE-related MMA news, The Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended Brock Lesnar for one year and fined him $250,000 after two failed drug tests following his UFC 200 match against Mark Hunt. In addition, his win against Hunt will be overturned into a no contest.

Elgin Splits with ROH – Pro Wrestling Sheet

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Michael Elgin has informed Ring of Honor that he longer intends to work with them. The report states Elgin has been unhappy over the past year and will instead be focusing on his 2-year deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling and his new promotion Glory Pro.

WrestleKingdom 11 on AXS TV – PW Torch

And speaking of New Japan…don’t have NJPW World but still want to see New Japan Pro Wrestling’s WrestleKingdom 11 this January? If your cable provider has AXS TV and you can wait 9 extra days, the New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS TV series is adjusting their schedule to present the event in four special episodes starting January 13th, 9 days after it airs on New Japan World. In previous years, WrestleKingdom episodes have aired on the program months after they took place. English commentary will be provided by Jim Ross and Josh Barnett.
