Angle/WWE Speculation – With Spandex

It’s Kurt Angle and we’ve been down this path before so take it with a grain of salt, but Dave Meltzer is reporting that Angle is telling promoters he is no longer taking independent wrestling dates, because he is returning to WWE in April.

SmackDown Ratings Win – Cageside Seats

For the first time since the Draft special, Smackdown has bested Raw in the ratings. This past week SmackDown drew 2.88 million viewers versus 2.85 million for Raw.

New Japan in California – PW Insider

As discussed on this week’s Chad Dukes Wrestling Show, New Japan Pro Wrestling is looking into running their annual G1 Climax Tournament in Long Beach, California as part of a foray into the United States market.

Big Show Death Hoax – Associated Press

The Big Show was the latest victim of an online death hoax yesterday. So no, he’s not dead, quite the opposite actually. Show posted a picture to Twitter Monday looking to be in the best shape he’s ever been.

Mick Foley Hip Update – With Spandex

Mick Foley posted a lengthy update regarding his health insurance situation and a hip surgery he needs. His insurance issues began after missing a payment and being dropped recently. Mick is also urging fans not to start a Go Fund Me for the surgery and to donate their funds to worthy charities.

WWE’s Top 25 Matches – WWE

WWE has posted a pretty solid list of the Top 25 matches of the year in the company in 2016. I’m sure you could argue placement of a few matches but overall they did a great job picking the lineup of matches.

SmackDown Live “Wild Card Finals” Results – WWE

SmackDown Live held a big free show last night featuring 3 championship matches and the return of John Cena to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble show. In the championship matches, Styles retained his championship in the main event defeating Dolph Ziggler & Baron Corbin, Alexa Bliss retained her championship with help from a second, mystery La Luchadora, and American Alpha won the 4-way elimination match to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Just when you think they’re going to make the Wyatt Family a dominant force…they drop the titles in under a month.

TNA Ownership News – PWInsider

PW Insider is reporting that an official announcement that Anthem Sports and Entertainment (Fight Network) has purchased TNA from Dixie Carter could be coming. Carter would be leaving the organization and Ed Nordholm of Anthem would be taking over.

Lethal Re-signs with ROH – With Spandex

In the wake of rumors of many names possibly departing the company, former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal is joining the Young Bucks in re-signing with Ring of Honor. PW Torch is reporting it will be a two-year exclusive deal.

NXT Takeover: San Antonio Main Event – WWE

After winning a Fatal Four Way #1 Contenders Match on last night’s NXT, Bobby Roode will challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Championship at NXT Takeover: San Antonio during Royal Rumble Weekend.

12 Days of Deletion – YouTube

Impact Wrestling has posted a sneak peek at the Hardy Family New Year Special featuring #Broken Matt Hardy gracing us with a rendition of the 12 Days of Deletion.

30 for 30: Nature Boy – Vimeo

The first teaser for the ESPN Films’ 30 for 30 on the Nature Boy Ric Flair has been released. The special will hit the air sometime in 2017.
