Performance Center Tryouts – WWE

Some interesting names tried out for WWE at a recent tryout camp. 19 Women and 19 Men attended the tryout including:

  • Shayna Baszler (former UFC fighter, AIW Women’s Champion, friend of Ronda Rousey, trained by Billy Robinson & Josh Barnett)
  • Kimber Lee (former CHIKARA Grand Champion trained by CWC competitor, Drew Gulak)
  • Eddie Kingston (14-year veteran and former champion with CHIKARA, AAW, CZW, & IWA-MS)
  • Cedric Rougeau (Son of former WWE star Jacques Rougeau)
  • Jacob Fatu (Son of Tonga Kid, nephew of Rikishi)

Dusty Rhodes Classic Teams – WWE

WWE has officially announced six of the 16 teams for this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic:

  • NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival
  • Kota Ibushi & Hideo Itami
  • Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa
  • Cedric Alexander & Andrade “Cien” Almas
  • Bobby Roode & Tye Dillinger
  • Tino Sabbatelli & Riddick Moss

Unofficially, but based on the recent NXT TV tapings, we also know that The Authors of Pain, CWC competitors The Bollywood Boys, TM-61, and the debuting Sanity will also be competing in the tournament bringing the total up to 10 teams so far.

Paige Set for Neck Surgery – With Spandex

Her suspension may be over but we won’t be seeing Paige returning to Raw anytime soon. The anti-Diva announced on Twitter yesterday she will be undergoing neck surgery.

PPV Previews

There are two major PPV shows scheduled for this weekend, ROH’s All Star Extravaganza VIII (Tonight) and TNA’s Bound for Glory (Sunday).

All Star Extravaganza VIII – ROH Wrestling

The ROH Tag Team Championship will main event tonight’s show from Lowell, MA as The Addiction defends against The Motor City Machine Guns and The Young Bucks in Ladder War 6, the ROH equivalent of the TLC match.  Also on the docket, ROH World Champion Adam Cole versus Michael Elgin, Naito vs. Jay Lethal, & the opening of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship tournament.

Bound For Glory – Impact Wrestling

As of this writing Bound For Glory is still on, but today has been marked as a do or die day for the impending sale of TNA Wrestling, so stay tuned. Should the show go on as planned Bobby Lashley will defend the TNA World Championship against EC3 in a No Holds Barred Match, Drew Galloway vs. Aron Rex for the new Impact Grand Championship, The Great War between The Decay & The Hardys, and the debut of Cody Rhodes.
