The Morning Roundup 9/29/16

As discussed on last night’s Chad Dukes Wrestling Show, there are lots of rumors and speculation flying around regarding the looming sale of TNA Wrestling.  This morning we’ll recap some of the tidbits from the story dominating the wrestling landscape this morning.

Corgan on Sirius XM Busted Open – PW Torch

Recently appointed TNA President and minority owner Billy Corgan was a guest on SiriusXM’s Busted Open radio show on Wednesday afternoon. Corgan promoted the Bound For Glory pay-per-view, but also went into some details about the state of his bid to purchase the company. Corgan stated he was “working very hard on acquiring a majority share in TNA” and keep the company afloat, long-term. He’s also making this bid to own TNA alone with no additional investors.  Corgan also opened up about his recent investment to finance the last set of television tapings at the last-minute.

Rumors on Flight Cancellations – WrestleZone

One of the more damaging rumors going around last night has been shot down this morning. PW Insider and Wrestlezone are refuting the rumor from Mark Middleton, who writes for several sites like Lords of Pain & Wrestling, Inc., that TNA canceled the flights of several wrestlers ahead of Bound for Glory.

Latest Update On The Sale – Wrestling, INC

This morning Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer released his latest update on the impending sale. Meltzer is blaming Dixie Carter for the chaos surrounding the sale, current TNA executive John Gabrick was the one who brought WWE into the picture (they are apparently now out of the picture again), and a deal needs to be made by Friday or risk putting Bound For Glory & the POP TV tapings in jeopardy.

The other PPV this weekend comes from ROH on Friday night from Lowell, Massachusetts. All Star Extravaganza VIII will feature Ladder War 6 for the ROH Tag Team Championships, Adam Cole defending the ROH World Championship against Michael Elgin, and the opening match in the ROH 6-man Tag Team Championship tournament. Speaking of that tournament there has been a change to one team as Lio Rush will replace KUSHIDA as ACH & Jay White’s partner against The Briscoes and Toru Yano.
