The Morning Roundup 2/22/16

As expected, lots of vitriol directed at the outcome of last night’s Fast Lane main event, I can summarize my feelings with two tweets I read last night:

Moving on…

Shinsuke Nakamura Press Conference –

New Japan’s former Intercontinental Champion’s signing to NXT is now official. At a press conference early this morning in Japan, Nakamura’s signing was confirmed and his debut April 1st at NXT Takeover Dallas against Sami Zayn was made official. Video and Photos are available at this link.

Lesnar’s New Mania Opponent – Cageside Seats

Well, this would explain the inexplicable Wyatt Family booking.  Dave Meltzer is reporting that Brock Lesnar now is penciled in to be facing Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32.

Owens on Ziggler, Rich Brennan’s face, and Loud Noises– YouTube

Kevin Owens is back on the Fallout videos!  One of my favorite bits has returned, backstage interviewers disturbing Kevin Owens during his post-match backstage sabbatical and Owens verbally eviscerating them. Millhouse!

Honor Rising Night 1 Results – Wrestling Observer

Ring of Honor held the first of two show in Koruken Hall in Tokyo Japan early this morning, headlined by Roddy Strong vs Tomohiro Ishii for the ROH World Television Championship. Night 2 will feature Jay Lethal vs. Tomoaki Honma for the ROH World Championship. Night 2 airs live on New Japan World and I’d guess both shows will be available on ROH’s website in the future.

Final Fast Lane Lineup – WWE

AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho and The Wyatt Family vs. Kane, Big Show, & Ryback have been officially added to Sunday’s Fast Lane card. Hit the link for the full lineup.

The Elite Sings Karaoke – Twitter

It’s kind of a slow news day, so please enjoy the Bullet Club Elite: Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks singing karaoke.

Undertaker Opponent for Mania – Cageside Seats

According to Dave Meltzer, the opponent for the Undertaker at WrestleMania has been decided on and it’s not the rumored names of Cena, Owens, or Strowman but a name not on the WWE roster right now. Whether that means an NXT talent, remains to be seen.

Brock Lesnar on Bryan’s Retirement – With Spandex

Brock Lesnar was on the weekly WWE-SportsCenter spot with Jonathan Coachman. One of the topics he touched upon were his feelings on Daniel Bryan’s retirement. Cliff Notes version: it was a “wide choice.”  Hit the link for the full comments and video.

March to WrestleMania Special Card – Lords of Pain

The Wrestling Observer is reporting the card for the March 12th “March to WrestleMania: Live from Toronto” WWE Network special is starting to take shape, even though nothing has been officially announced. A Highlight Reel and the WWE Toronto debut of AJ Styles, but my biggest news item about the show?  BROCK LESNAR VS. LUKE HARPER.

Barrett Comments – Cageside Seats

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett recently informed WWE officials he would not be re-signing when his contract expires in June.  Ryan Satin is saying it is over creative dissatisfaction.  Barrett commented… sort of.  Barrett sent a message out on Twitter that he would comment further “at a more appropriate time” and he was focused on continuing to do his job.
