Our pal Justin LaBar of Wrestlezone is reporting that John Cena underwent emergency surgery on Tuesday to correct breathing issues with his broken nose, suffered Monday against Seth Rollins. LaBar is also reporting that reconstructive surgery has been suggested and Cena has been advised to miss several weeks of action, but Cena being Cena, no one knows for sure if he will take the time off.
It could be a blessing in disguise honestly. For a program that while it will surely result in a great in-ring match at Summer Slam, isn’t one I was looking forward to on the story building side, I’d much prefer weeks of Seth Rollins gloating over breaking the nose of the face of WWE than weeks of hearing how Cena’s going to overcome the odds once again. But as the article says about Cena sitting out, “It’s John Cena, you never know.”
