TNA Star MVP Reacts to Destination America News

MVP of TNA’s Beat Down Clan is the first TNA superstar to react to the news that Ring of Honor will be joining the Wednesday Night Destination America lineup. Check out the tweets below.

Ring of Honor to Debut on Destination America

Apparently, Wednesday nights are the place to be in pro-wrestling in 2015. NXT, Lucha Underground, Impact moves to Wednesdays next week and now… Ring of Honor joins them.

Destination America tweeted the news this afternoon that they have acquired the rights to air Ring of Honor Wrestling on the Discovery Communications owned network.

Last week, the network was in the news after Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that they would be cancelling Impact in September, a claim TNA has denied.  With this news, the soap opera has taken an interesting turn.

From the press release:

Destination America is now the one-two-punch to professional wrestling, adding RING OF HONOR (ROH) to its line-up after launching IMPACT WRESTLING in early 2015. RING OF HONOR has been delivering top wrestling matches for ten years with captivating hard-hitting stars such as Jay & Mark Briscoe, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, The Young Bucks, Maria Kanellis, Adam Cole and Jay Lethal. Destination America will pack on the action beginning Wednesday June 3 with the series premiere of RING OF HONOR at 8/7c leading into brand new premieres of IMPACT WRESTLING at 9/8c.

So either the rumors of Impact’s demise have been exaggerated and Destination America is doubling down on pro wrestling… or Destination America just signed Impact’s replacement.

Once we receive comments from Ring of Honor and/or TNA we will provide you with an update and I’m sure this will be discussed on an all-new Chad Dukes Wrestling Show.

 Fight Owens Fight

Kevin Owens returned to Raw for the second straight week, sporting new gear (available on, naturally), and laying out John Cena with his pop-up powerbomb.

The rise of Kevin Owens these past three weeks has been astounding.  In just a week’s time, Owens has gone from well-regarded champion of NXT, known mainly to the “smart” portion of the WWE audience, to having a rocket strapped to his back on worldwide television, laying out John Cena two weeks in a row.  Not to mention facing off with Samoa Joe to close Wednesday’s NXT Takeover event.  A happening so noteworthy, highlights were shown on Smackdown.  Can you remember the last time NXT highlights aired on Smackdown?  I believe this would be the first time.

Sunday, Owens has the opportunity to cement a reputation in WWE when he squares off with John Cena at Elimination Chamber.  Since it now appears the US Title is not on the line Sunday, I hope WWE takes the chance and learns from the mistakes of Cena-Wyatt or Cena-Rusev and takes the chance of an Owens upset.  It puts over Owens and it puts over NXT as a “separate” entity from Earth 616 WWE.  Cena can get his win back down the line but imagine the credibility Owens would gain if he put in a Lesnar-Cena type performance/win?  Win or lose, like Triple H, I still believe the sky’s the limit for the NXT Champion.
