Every match on tonight’s Elimination Chamber show had the unenviable task of living up to the standard of what John Cena & Kevin Owens did in a 20×20 ring tonight but Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins did their damndest. Let’s run down the results.
WWE Championship: Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins via DQ after initially pinning Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship
Great match. As DQ/Dusty finishes go, tonight’s WWE Championship finish was well executed. Seth Rollins fits his role as cowardly champion that everyone hates so well that false finishes and reversals like tonight make you incredibly angry, but in a good way. The controversy came when Dean Ambrose attempted his diving elbow, Seth Rollins pushed the original referee into the line of fire. A second referee came out and counted a pinfall after Ambrose hit Rollins with Dirty Deeds awarding him the championship.
Once the first referee awoke he broke the bad news to the crowd that yes, Ambrose was the winner but by DQ. Ultimately Roman Reigns came down to help Ambrose abscond with the championship belt. I smell rematch, a ladder match rematch at Money In The Bank.

More details about our friends’ at Ring of Honor’s television deal with TNA’s current television partner Destination America are now available.
- Per Ring of Honor’s press release, ROH will air for 26 weeks starting Wednesday June 3rd
- Per PW Insider, the episodes that air on Wednesday Nights will be the same episodes that air the previous weekend in syndication.
I think that second bullet is the most important point in this whole situation.
For Ring of Honor this gets their syndicated program into more homes and at the same time generates additional revenue, simply by continuing to produce the show they’ve produced for years.
For Destination America, one of the rumored complaints from Destination America about TNA has been the production costs in comparison to the return in ratings. If ROH ultimately replaces TNA and can maintain their ratings at a lower cost, because that cost is being eaten by Sinclair producing the show for their syndicated stations? It’s win-win for Destination America.
While there hasn’t been much in the way of network synergy between DA & TNA, ROH headliners The Briscoes seem tailor-made for guest shots on some of the Discovery-owned network’s programs like Hillbilly Blood and Mountain Monsters.
Hit the jump for the latest on the public reaction from TNA regarding their new lead-in program.
