Just over 3 days out from the ROH 13th Anniversary Pay-Per-View, IWGP Champion AJ Styles joined the Chad Dukes Wrestling Show Thursday afternoon to discuss a number of topics.  From ROH’s recent talent infusion, the Bullet Club in Ring of Honor, his opponent Sunday ACH, the return of Samoa Joe, the Styles Clash controversy, smart marks, the growth of New Japan in the states, and much more.

Much has been made in the past few days about the return to Samoa Joe, a name Styles is intimately familiar with, to the ROH ring.  Not only are fans around the country excited but his former opponent is pumped for his return.

“Joe coming back to Ring of Honor is huge.  He and I talked before he released his statement but I was excited about him maybe having the opportunity for him to come back to Ring of Honor because it’s exciting to have a guy who you know works hard and can do unbelievable things and has a history at Ring of Honor.  I’m excited to see the welcome he gets when he comes back, not just from the guys in the back, because I know they will welcome him, but from the fans waiting on him.”

Bad News Barrett to Defend the Intercontinental Championship In a Ladder Match at WrestleMania

It looks like WWE has figured a way to get Money in the Bank back at WrestleMania…sort of.

Just announced via WWE on Facebook, Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett will be defending his title in a Ladder Match against “multiple opponents” on March 29th in Santa Clara, CA at WrestleMania.  The identity of these opponents has yet to be revealed, but judging by recent events you can probably pencil Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, & R-Truth into 3 spots.  Another possible contender? Watch tonight’s SmackDown opening segment and some strong hints are being dropped for a huge name being the 5th man.

Another possible contender? Watch tonight’s SmackDown opening segment to see some strong hints being dropped for a huge name to become the 5th man in the match.

As always…stay tuned.

Smackdown Preview 2/26/15

Live on tape from Badstreet, Atlanta, GA it’s the Thursday Night Delight, WWE Smackdown!  Did you know Frogman LeBlanc attended these tapings but didn’t tweet anything on @DukesWrestling about it?  That’s because he don’t love you like I do.

It’s a Fast Lane Rematch, as tonight’s main event will see the parties from the opening contest at Sunday’s PPV hooking it up again in six-man tag team action.  The trio of Ryback, Rowan, & Ziggler are looking for payback against the Authority team of Kane, The Big Show, & Seth Rollins.

Opening tonight’s show will be the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan addressing the WWE Universe about WrestleMania 31.  An opening promo?  I’m sure it will go on without a hitch!

And judging from the match listing for the show, the drama over the Intercontinental Championship will be front and center with both Dean Ambrose and Bad News Barrett in action as well as R-Truth making another commentary guest spot.

Here’s your full lineup:

  • Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz
  • Natalya vs. Naomi
  • Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett
  • Fandango vs. Curtis Axel
  • Goldust vs. Adam Rose
  • Ryback, Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane, Big Show and Seth Rollins
