Jon “Bones” Jones on CM Punk to the UFC

The UFC Light heavyweight Champion Jon “Bones” Jones spoke with Chad Dukes on Chad Dukes Versus The World this afternoon to promote his title fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 on January 3rd, 2015.  In addition to hyping his fight he also had some interesting comments about CM Punk’s impending UFC debut in 2015.

I think it’s an awesome thing for the sport, it’s gonna bring a lot of publicity. I went to my first WWE match this year and the enthusiasm and emotion on the fans faces, it was like they were watching real fighting in the UFC.  I do have a respect for the influence of the WWE and the passion of the fans.  I found it awesome to watch for myself and the audience.  At the same time it would be a bad thing only because every day I’m at the gym watching these kids training.  These guys have no money and they’re training their tails off, giving up everything to be a fighter.  Living in the gym, eating turkey and peanut butter, bare minimum to chase this dream and then a superstar like him just gets to jump into the UFC just because he knows the right people and has a name.  I just think it’s unfair for the people who have been working their tails off to earn this opportunity.  That’s why I really hope UFC gives him a real opponent so we can watch him get knocked out.

Jones’ comments start at the 6:55 mark of the interview linked below.

The Tyson Kidd/Cesaro team has been introduced at live events over the weekend as “The Masters of the WWE Universe.” It’s a mouthful but wonderfully pompous.

And finally, it wouldn’t be Christmas without Rowdy Roddy Piper. We’ve posted these in Christmas past, but like any Christmas special, they’re required viewing.

The Coolest Picture You’ll See All Day: The Eater of Worlds Meets The Boogeyman

From the Twitter of the Boogeyman (@realboogey) comes the meeting of two supernatural superstars. It’s the Eater of Worlds, Bray Wyatt, face to face with the man from the Bottomless Pit, the Boogeyman.  The Worms versus The Buzzards.  During his time in WWE many superstars were creeped out by the actions of the Boogeyman, but with Wyatt, he may have met the man who is more demented than a guy who eats worms and smashes clocks on his head.

The Boogeyman was backstage at last night’s Raw in Minneapolis and appeared in a segment on the WWE App as well as posing for several pictures with current WWE Superstars Bray Wyatt and WWE Divas Cameron & Alicia Fox. In addition to the photo ops, Boogey tweeted a photo teasing that he’s back.  Whether that means he’s back with WWE remains to be seen. He’s made sporadic appearances over the years for various Slammy events or Halloween videos. At the very least he’d make a fine surprise Royal Rumble entrant.

Hit the jump for the tweets in question.

Adrian Neville’s “New Gimmick” – With Spandex

Word is Adrian Neville is getting called up from NXT with a “Mighty Mouse” gimmick.  Many have speculated this means he’ll literally be Mighty Mouse, but as a quote in the article says when they say Mighty Mouse they’re meaning “small but strong”, not “mouse super hero.”  But the internet being what it is, people are freaking out.  Considering his stature and build (read:ripped) “small strong man” isn’t the worst thing that could happen to Neville.  As always, I’ll take a wait and see approach.
