The Charlotte Observer recently posted a fantastic article detailing how Mark Crozer’s Broken Out of Love aka Live in Fear, became the iconic theme music of the Eater of Worlds, Bray Wyatt.
The short version of the story goes that Crozer had uploaded the song to a website that helps artists get their music licensed for television, Bray Wyatt while developing in NXT was on the hunt for a fitting entrance song, and the rest is history.
Wyatt talked about how well the song clicked in his head upon first listen:
“As soon as I heard the bass line of this one a spark happened. It was magic. He was able to capture a mood in a melody. The mood is very eerie.”
Eerie is right, I had a chance to experience the entrance of the Wyatt Family live this past Sunday and it’s clear Crozer and WWE have struck gold with a song that perfectly captures the essence of the Wyatt Family and specifically, Bray Wyatt.
It’s not often that a piece of music created outside of WWE “sticks” as a WWE theme song, but after being used in NXT, Live in Fear fit Wyatt so perfectly, WWE licensing the song was a no brainer. The song has been a smashing success for Crozer, Live in Fear is currently #49 on Amazon MP3′s Soundtrack chart and #103 on Itunes Soundtrack chart and the downloads keep coming everytime Bray Wyatt appears on WWE television.
I was surprised – the show airs on Monday night, and instantly, my email inbox fills up with tweets and contacts on Monday nights.
Crozer, best known as a guitarist for the Jesus and Mary Chain, and his band Mark Crozer and The Rels now have a relationship with WWE Music Group that could see more of his music used by WWE in the future.
