The X-Division may still be about “No Limits,” but it now has a weight limit.

That’s one of the changes announced for the X-Division on Impact Wrestling last night.  Here’s a brief rundown of the new rules:

  • 230-lb weight limit
  • Every X-Division match, including title matches, will be triple-threat matches
  • Title Matches – The winner is the champ (obviously), and the loser is eliminated from the next title match
  • Title Contender Match – The loser of the last match plus two new contenders will fight their way in to the next title match

Last night, Kenny King retained his title by pinning Sonjay Dutt in a triple-threat match also featuring Zema Ion.  So, Zema lives to fight in the next title match.  Dutt now must wrestle two new contenders in an attempt to get into the next title match.

After the jump, we’ll have a full list of X-Division eligible wrestlers on the TNA roster.

The following list of wrestlers under the 230-lb weight limit is courtesy of the TNA Roster on ImpactWrestling.com.  Most of the roster is still eligible, but note that the last champion, Rob Van Dam, doesn’t make the cut (237 lbs).

  • Kenny King (c) – 230 lbs
  • AJ Styles – 215 lbs
  • Alex Silva – 200 lbs
  • Austin Aries – 210 lbs
  • Chavo Guerrero – 225 lbs
  • Chris Sabin – 205 lbs
  • Christian York – 220 lbs
  • Christopher Daniels – 224 lbs
  • Doug Williams – 225 lbs
  • Eric Young – 225 lbs
  • James Storm – 230 lbs
  • Jeff Hardy – 215 lbs
  • Jesse Sorensen – 205 lbs
  • Jessie Godderz – 220 lbs
  • Joey Ryan – 210 lbs
  • Kazaian – 215 lbs

Like the structure. So every other X Division match should be a title match. I also like that the belt is on the line too. It’s almost refreshing (looking at you WWE w/ your IC and US Non-title matches).

It would be interesting to see if they have a form of relegation…like if you’re the loser of the 3 contenders match, to get into the championship match (currently w/ King and Zema), you don’t get another opportunity to be in the qualifying 3way match for “X” amount of time.
