On the heels of one of TNA’s biggest PPV in Lockdown, some bad news may be on its way. Reports are coming out that TNA has accidently let the contract of Bobby Roode expire. Yep, the TNA has let the contract of one of their top 3 talents juest expire. It gets worse, they had no idea. Until Bobby Roode brought it up to TNA officials, they were unaware his contract was set to expire.
What impact could this have? For one, Roode may not be available for Lockdown. Roode is suppose to defend his tag titles with Aries in a three way dance against Hernandez/Guerrero and Bad Influence. Roode has not been at the last two TV tapings, and unless his contract is renegotiated, he wont be at Lockdown.
This is very bad press for TNA. To let the contract of one of your top talents just expire without knowledge looks bad on the company. If this was during the Monday Night Wars, the rival side would’ve swooped in and stole said talent. I would not be surprised if the WWE got wind of this and have tried to steal Roode away. While it appears Roode will eventually return to TNA, it would be detrimental to the company.
TNA should be working around the clock to get Roode to Lockdown. Not only is this a big PPV, but he is a big name talent. To lose Roode to Lockdown would cause them to have to shift the tag team title match and revamp the program. The average fan would then begin to wonder where Roode was and may be disappointed to find he isn’t on the show they shelled money out for. Lock it down TNA.
