On paper, tonight’s RAW looks to be one of those special shows as WWE starts kicking 2013 into gear. The Road to Wrestlemania starts at the Royal Rumble, and you can expect the next few weeks to be focused on the upcoming PPV.
We’re all counting on/hoping for Punk vs. Rock at the Rumble and there looks to be some other undercard matches worth watching, plus the the Rumble match itself. My question to CDWS-Nation:
Who will win the Rumble?
Don’t worry, we won’t hold you to your vote just yet, since there are still a few weeks of considerable build to go. Let’s make this an easier question for now: do you think it will be an established star, possibly winning the match AGAIN, or do you think it will be a one of the WWE’s rising stars?
When WWE isn’t in the mood to build a new superstar, they go to their list of favorites like John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, etc. Cena is more than likely going to be tied up in a program with the Rock through Wrestlemania, so if Rock wins the title at the Rumble… pretty easy to fill in the blank here. A Cena/Rock feud will be good, but I still don’t think they need the WWE Championship to draw more interest. If Rock beats Punk for the strap, I expect to groan as Cena tosses the last man standing over the top.
However, if Rock somehow loses, then it’s totally up for grabs in my opinion. Maybe the World Heavyweight Championship will get some attention and someone like Sheamus, Orton, or Del Rio wins. WWE generally uses the Rumble to build up a monster (Diesel, Kane), so maybe Ryback will win the match and eliminate a ton of guys in the process.
Right now, my vote is Cena, but I’d love to be wrong about it. What do you think? Are there any early favorites you’re betting on?

I don’t know who wins the Rumble but WM will be:
Rock vs Cena
HHH vs Lesner
Orton vs Sheamus
Punk vs Taker
I put my money on Cena to win the rumble. However, I’m not in the same boat as everyone else. I say Punk retains at Rumble just to drop at ‘Mania. I very well could be wrong. The one thing I can’t get over is Ziggler has MITB and no one has him wrestling at ‘Mania. Cashing it in?
