Spoiler: AND NEW Intercontinental Champion…

The whole Dukes Wrestling team was out at the Raw taping at the Verizon Center in DC last night and had a blast.  Many you have probably heard the big spoiler of the evening by now, and to be honest it’s going to be hard to not have it spoiled for you.

Last night’s Raw featured a series of “Champions Choice” matches, in which every champions would defend their title, except of course for injured WWE Champion CM Punk, in a match against the opponent of their choosing. Unfortunately in the Intercontinental Championship match, Kofi Kingston came up on the short end of the stick.

Just who is the new Intercontinental Champion? Hit the jump to find out.

SmackDown Preview 12/28/12

Tonight from Rochester, NY: the final televised SmackDown of the year!

After what went down on last week’s Miz TV, the new power…trio(?) of Dolph Ziggler, AJ Lee, and Big E. Langston have drawn the ire of the Awesome One. Tonight on SmackDown, The Miz will face Ziggler in singles action in retaliation for Ziggler and Langston’s dastardly attack to end Miz TV last Tuesday. AJ will be in short shorts and Chucks. It’s obviously a must-see.

The New Age Outlaws Ride Again

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages…

Last night at WWE’s Live Event in New York City at Madison Square Garden, fans were treated to a special occurrence. Team Rhodes Scholars faced an interesting tag team opponent.

The Road Dogg, Jesse James. The Bad Ass, Billy Gunn. The New. Age. Outlaws.

The NYC Show was an interesting card to be sure with the Shield facing Team Hell No and The Miz, Paul Heyman(!) versus Ryback in a Street Fight, and the main event of Dolph Ziggler and John Cena inside a steel cage.

In addition to NYC, the Outlaws also wrestled Rhodes Scholars in a Live Event in Detroit, MI on Wednesday Night.

Fingers crossed for all the CDWS fans in the DC/MD/VA area going to the WWE Supershow taping this Saturday at the Verizion Center that some of this untelevised action will spill over onto the shows being taped that evening. The end of year shows are usually light on long term story development. I think a Outlaws-Scholars match/mini-feud would be perfect for this down time.

Not to mention it would cause many grown men to be hugging each other and soiling themselves out of pure joy. And if you’re not down with that, we got two words for ya…

Fun Rant Friday – LOP

Apparently, Flair visited the Heat locerk room while they were in Raleigh and LeBron loved seeing Flair.  I mean, he is Ric Flair, so LeBron should be happy.  However, as a bitter Cavs fan, I hate LeBron and hate when he enters my LeBron-free wrestling universe.  I agree, Flair invented swag, but had enough class not to call it such a stupid thing.  Dreamer > LeBron.
