TNA had a PPV last night, Raw is LIVE tonight, and our colleagues at the Pork Patrol are opening Beer & Pig this week, so let’s get right to what should be a big week.
TNA Sacrifice PPV News– PW Torch
By most accounts last night’s Sacrifice PPV was a pretty good show, check the link for some of the highlighted results and storylines going into Thursday’s show. There’s a separate article also on PW Torch about Kurt Angle suffering a knee injury on last night’s show which you can view HERE.
I don’t really get why officials are reportedly “in a panic” over the COO-Lesnar storyline, give it time to develop. If they do panic, they’re looking to move the match from it’s original SummerSlam spot to June’s No Way Out PPV. If you haven’t seen the PPV poster for No Way Out by the way, it’s fantastic. It features two of my favorite parts of SmackDown each week. Check it out below.
John Cena “Out of It?”– PW Mania
That’s odd, you’d think John Cena would be completely focused after filing for divorce from his wife/high school sweetheart.
With the schedule that Cena keeps and the added stress of his personal life, the guy’s bound to have an off night.
Could Matt Morgan Return to WWE? – Lords of Pain
Apparently, TNA has used up all their dates on Morgan’s contract and the writer here is connecting some dots between that and Morgan and WWE’s shared interest in a return. Morgan was briefly in the WWE years back with a stuttering-gimmick. I’m not a huge fan of the guy, but he has a look that the WWE definitely loves.
Kevin Steen wins the ROH World Championship–SLAM! Sports
In addition to TNA’s Sacrifice PPV, Ring of Honor held a Internet PPV on Saturday night. The first few hours of the broadcast were marred by Ring of Honor’s website crashing, but the Rock’s close personal friend Kevin Steen defeated Davey Richards in the Main Event. The storyline going in was that this was “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare’s” one and only title shot. ROH tapes it’s next few weeks of Television this Friday in Baltimore.
